About This Blog

What is this blog about?
This blog is primarily a collection of all the things that I have worked through personally with my 98 328i. I've always been sad that I didn't keep a better record of all the work we did on my hatchback.

Who am I?
I'm just a normal guy. I work full time in IT and I have a family. I've been tinkering with cars since I was 15. Came from mostly VW roots, shifted over to Japanese imports, then, came back around to the euro side again.

Please note: I am not a license certified mechanic. I am in no way affiliated with BMW. Take everything on this blog with a grain of salt, as it is the first time I've worked through most of these things on this car. I'm blessed to have some really knowledgeable BMW folks in my life. They have helped a huge amount along the way.

Why should I read through it?
I've done my best to layout how I did most of, what I did, in a sensible manner. I do look back and revise things from time to time. If something looks out of place, shoot me a comment and let me know.

What resources do you use?
My reference material starts with the Bentley manual. If I can't make sense of that I'll search on the Google. If I'm still unsure I'll seek answers from before mentioned BMW gurus.

Whats up with that Slanty Six name?
The engine in the my 328, and most beemers for that matter, are slanted, or angled.
